STEP ONE
Make a post to your DA journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your DA or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- do it.
You need not spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Give, and you might receive. and you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.


1. Above all else, I hope for the chance to finally be with my soul mate day and night for the rest of my life. Nothing could surpass that... the very idea of being able to enjoy the holidays with her... I couldn't ask for anything else.

2. I'd also dearly love to find my creative inner voice again. This writer's block is an impediment to my health. I want the joy I used to feel when words flowed easily from mind to hand.

3. Thirdly, I long for the kind of self-confidence that will carry me through today and the next day. Depression has sapped too much of Middy's soul... it's about time to be able to face life without fear and sorrow.

4. I need money -- plain and simple. I cannot ever hope to move to Iowa/Minnesota without it. I need the willpower to save up... avoiding instantaneous and materialistic pleasures.

5. A closer relationship with those in my family. I'd like to be able to speak of my happiness in having found true love rather than feeling like some sort of secret that must be shoved aside. I need my mother to accept me.

6. A new car would be quite useful... my old one's days are becoming increasingly numbered.

7. I'm actually quite interested in getting a tattoo of Middy... blame it on my recent obsession with Miami Ink... but seriously... I even know how I'd like her drawn.

8. A chance to go to a Skillet concert with my love... we'd planned to go to one over my birthday (which is five days after Christmas)... but that really won't be possible now.

9. I'd really like to come across the right college to continue my education. I'm not ready to give up my goal of working with wolves.

10. ....and I'd really, really like for my love and her family to have the type of Christmas they deserve... full of companionship, memories, and GIFTS (yes, everyone deserves that materialistic edge during the holidays!)
